Extreme Cruelty to Animals

CRIME: Extreme Cruelty to Animals OCCURRED: June 11th, 2016 VICTIM: Marcus Wilkie LOCATION: 1609 Dark Canyon Road, Carlsbad New Mexico Eddy County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with Crimestoppers of Eddy County, requests your assistance in solving an Extreme Cruelty to Animals that occurred between 8:00 am on June 9th, 2016 and 3:00 p.m. on June 11th, 2016. On June 11th, 2016 at 1500 hours deputies with Eddy County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 1609 Dark Canyon Road in reference to two cows that had been shot and killed. Upon arrival at that location deputies observed two brown and white cows had been shot and left to die at that location. A more detailed inspection of the scene revealed there were several spent bullet casings located near the deceased cows. The total loss is estimated at $2,800.00.
